As part of the events honoring Flag Day, a concert open to the entire community was held on Friday, June 19, featuring Argentine musicians Cristian Faig, Facundo Rodríguez, and Walter Romero.
Cristian Faig is an Argentine flutist, singer, and percussionist who studied transverse flute and voice at the Carlos López Buchardo Conservatory, where he earned his degree as a Senior Music Professor in 2004. His artistic career is distinguished by versatility, sonic exploration, and the dialogue between different musical traditions, integrating influences from classical music, jazz, and Latin American folk music.
Facundo Rodríguez is an Argentine guitarist with an extensive international career. He has collaborated extensively with Latin American artists, winning the Gardel Award for Best Chamamé Album in 2019. In recent years, he has been working on his solo and ensemble musical projects, presenting arrangements for various formations, and since 2023, he has been producing and leading the audiovisual project *Chamamé y Río*.
Walter Romero is an Argentine musician, professor, and researcher who trained in tango at the Terlizzi Conservatory, located in the legendary La Boca neighborhood. He also holds a degree in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, and his most recent tango performances have included works by early 20th-century Argentine poets, as well as anecdotes and memories of Argentina’s greatest writers and musicians.
Before a full house, the repertoire they performed included a varied selection of popular Argentine works in the genres of tango, milonga, chamamé, zamba, chacarera, and music from the Litoral region.
We extend special thanks to the musicians for taking us on this memorable journey through Argentine music in tribute to our flag, and to all attendees for participating in this cultural initiative.
