ARGENTINA AT THE ANUGA 2025 FAIR

A new edition of ANUGA took place in Cologne, Germany, from October 4 to 8. With 94% of exhibitors and 80% of foreign visitors, the organizers emphasized that ANUGA continues to demonstrate its influence and relevance as the largest business and innovation platform for the food and beverage industry worldwide. This year's edition broke records, with the participation of more than 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries and welcomed 145,000 professional visitors from more than 190 countries, representing an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous edition.

The central theme of ANUGA 2025, for the second consecutive edition, was Sustainable Growth, with the aim of addressing the industry's latest developments and approaches to environmental and climate challenges and the existing tensions between food security-economic growth-sustainability.

The Cologne fairgrounds covered a gross exhibition area of approximately 300,000 square meters, distributed in 10 thematic halls: Anuga Alternatives; Anuga Fine Food; Anuga Bread & Bakery; Anuga Frozen Food; Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food; Anuga Organic; Anuga Meat; Anuga Drinks; Anuga Hot Beverages; and Anuga Dairy. 

The opening of Anuga 2025 took place in the fair's north conference center. The keynote speakers at the opening ceremony were Gerald Böse (Chairman of the Board of Koelnmesse), Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food, Alois Rainer (CSU) and Miryung Song (Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Korea). The Minister's presence took place because South Korea was the guest of honor at this year's fair.

Our country participated with a delegation of more than 100 companies, headed by the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAICI), with the presence of its Executive President, Diego Sucalesca. The national pavilion had over 1,200 square meters of exhibition space, the largest among Latin American countries, in sectors 3.1 and 4.1 (Food), 3.2 (Bakery products), 8.1 (Hot and cold beverages) and 10.1 (Dairy products).

The public-private articulation with representatives of the following provinces was also highlighted: Pro-Córdoba; Pro Salta; Santa Fe Global accompanied by Ramiro Vio, Provincial Director of Industry Technology and Georgina Losada, Secretary of Foreign Trade; and from the province of La Pampa Sebastián Lastiri, Executive Director of the La Pampa Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (I-COMEX La Pampa) and Alexis Iviglia, president of the Bank of La Pampa,

Other participants included renowned national business chambers such as the  Instituto de Promoción de la Carne Vacuna Argentina  (IPCVA- Argentine Beef Promotion Institute), Centro de Empresas Procesadoras Avícolas (CEPA- Poultry Processing Companies Center) and the Instituto Nacional de la Yerba Mate (INYM- National Yerba Mate Institute). The Argentine presence, with a total of almost 160 companies, was complemented by the presence of individual stands from the pork, citrus fruit and juice concentrates, frozen products, snacks and confectionery, and gourmet products sectors.
